Going Private

We have decided to make the blog private.  What this means is that only invited readers will be able to access the blog.  It is something that we have thought about doing for a very long time, but have never acted upon.  These days, we feel that we never can be too careful, espically when it comes to the safety of our children.  We have heard and read stories about pictures of children being stolen and used on craigslist, or stalkers who have a fixation on a certain person and stalk the blog until they've gained enough information about the family to find them. 

I've noticed on our traffic feed that we get visitors from Nigera and other far away places like that.  I assume these people get to our blog through google searches or something like that and it makes me a little uneasy sometimes.

So, I will automatically add everyone in my email address book as an invited reader.  But if for some reason I don't have your email address, please leave a comment or send an email to rlnjones@yahoo.com with your email address and I will gladly add you.  I don't want this to stop any of our friends or family from being able to keep up with us.

I really enjoy blogging, sharing our lives with you and reading other people's blogs as well.  I read all kinds of blogs, including people that I am not very close with in real life.  I read my old neighbor's blog, my mother-in-laws friends daughters blog and so on.  The reason I say this is because if you read our blog and aren't necessilary a close friend or family member, I hope you won't hesitate to send me your email address and become an invited reader.

I know we have some friends whose parents check our blog and other people like that and I just don't want anyone to feel weird about sending me an email and becoming an invited reader.  As long as I know how you're connected (so and so's mom, an old co-worker, etc) then I'm happy to share our lives with you :)

We are going to leave it public for a couple of weeks to give everyone time to see this posting.
