A day in the life...

Ever wonder what a typical day is like in the Jones family?  [Just say yes :)] Well, wonder no more.  We captured every moment (well almost every moment) in pictures last Saturday, September 24, 2010.  It was a long day and its not as easy as it sounds to take pictures of everything you do in a day.  

This Saturday was pretty typical, with the exception of going to a wedding on Saturday night.  In hindsight, I should have done Sunday instead, since it was more of a normal day for us, but I wasn't about to take on the task of capturing every moment in pictures for 2 days straight, 1 day was enough :)

Without further ado, here is our Saturday:

6:45 am - Brady wakes up and has some cereal
[6:45 is Brady's idea, not mine] and watches Mickey Mouse

Mommy has toast and COFFEE

Brady gets cold feet, so we put on some socks

Daddy and Laney are sleeping in since Daddy works long and hard on Friday's.  Laney actually sleeps in her bed at night, but she wakes up at around 5:00 am and I bring her into our bed to nurse her and try to get in just a few more zzz's.

7:15 am - Laney starts to wake up

Brady does the "Hot Dog" dance from Mickey Mouse

Laney has breakfast

Mommy unloads the dishwasher and reloads with the morning dishes

While Laney hangs out on the play mat

Then its time to get Laney changed

Brady "helps"

Laney is changed and dressed for the day

Laney hangs out in the exersauser while Mommy chases Brady to get him dressed

Brady gets dressed

And brushes his teeth

Brady gets 2 smiley faces on his board for getting dressed and brushing his teeth

If you can't read it, it has his "Responsibility-Goal" listed down the left hand side and the days of the week across the top.  His goals are: 1) Get Dressed, 2) Brush Teeth, 3) Say Please and Thank You, 4) Put Toys Away, 5) Take a Bath, 6) Get Ready for Bed, 7) Take Medicine. [Luckily he's not on any medicine right now, so that one is blank for the week].  The Goals and smiley faces are all magnets that stick on the board.  This set came with about 50 other "Responsibilities/Goals" that we can change out as he gets older.

8:15 am - Brady wants a snack

8:45 am - Laney has a BLOW-OUT

So, Laney takes a bath

Brady has a bit of a jealous moment and climbs in Laney's bed

Mommy changes the poopy changing cover for a clean one

Laney is clean again and plays in her bed

Laney gets tired and is ready to be swaddled up

9:15 am - Laney falls asleep

Time to wake Daddy up

Mommy makes the bed and Brady climbs on it to mess it up :)

Daddy gets dressed

Brady and Daddy go to get a morning paper

Mommy takes a shower and gets ready for the day - What's so funny?

Mommy folds some laundry and starts another load

10:40 am - Daddy eats breakfast and Brady has round 3...and they watch some football

Mommy gathers up some garage sale stuff since I recently redecorated our bedroom

Brady plays golf 

Mommy digs out some instruction manuals on how to disassemble some baby gear (tear)

11:45 am - Laney wakes up from her nap

Laney eats

Then she gets a diaper change and eats her toes

Mommy updates her weight watcher journal on her phone

Brady and Daddy play

Mommy and Laney want to join in on the fun

Daddy raids the fridge for lunch.  We are a little late in getting lunch going.  We usually eat lunch at 11:30 and Brady takes a nap at noon.

12:10 pm - Brady throws a fit
[Yep, its getting about time for a nap]

Because we took away the football he was eating

Better now....kind of

12:30 pm - Brady eats lunch....while still watching football

12:30 pm - Meanwhile, Mommy and Laney get in the car to run some errands

First, we have to stop at Chick-fil-a :)

Then, we go to Target.  Laney got fussy, so Mommy drove Laney back home and left her with Daddy, then Mommy went to the grocery store

3:00 pm - Brady wakes up from his nap

Mommy and Brady both look tired

Brady is still trying to wake up so we sit on the couch and have a snack.  And guess what?  We're still watching football...

3:30 pm - Laney wakes up from her nap, she eats and then Brady and Laney play

The four of us get ready for a wedding.  Mommy spends more time loading the diaper bag with diapers, wipes, burp clothes, extra clothes, snacks, toys, a bottle, Laney's food, a bib and a spoon than I actually spend getting myself ready for the wedding.  Ma Lyn and Pa Roy come over so that we can follow each other to the wedding.

We all get in the car and head to the ceremony

We watched the ceremony, then headed back to the car to drive to the reception

Brady had a fancy Mac and Cheese appetizer

Starting to get hungry, so Mommy goes to feed Laney again

Laney played with MaLyn while Brady danced away on the dance floor

We had some yummy wedding food

Laney started showing off her church panties and that's when we decided that was enough fun for the night :)

This is where the photos stop.  After this, we took both kids to the car, changed them into their PJ's (Mommy was thinking ahead and brought them with her) and headed home. Neither one got their normal bath and bedtime routine.  I may have to do a separate post showing the bedtime routine, it is really an amazing thing that we accomplish every night!
