Starting Cereal and other random pictures

Laney started cereal on Friday night.  We didn't start Brady on cereal until he was 6 months old (the doctor recommends starting anywhere between 4 and 6 months old). 

We waited with Brady partly because he was thriving so much on milk alone and partly because he didn't show any interest in it. 

But, Laney, well she has been watching us with hungry eyes when we eat for a few weeks now.  In addition, she started a sleep regression where she wasn't sleeping through the night anymore.  So, momma busted out the baby cereal and we gave it a whirl on Friday night.

Here she is in her bumbo seat, bib on and ready for a brand new adventure.

First bite.  I think she is thinking, "hmm, that is different".

 Now she is thinking, "hey this stuff isn't too bad"

And the final verdict is...she really likes it!
 

She ate about half of the bowl I made for her, which is very good for her first time ever.  After about 5 bites, she started leaning in with an open mouth ready for the next bite.  So cute!!!

In other news, we've been making some improvements to our yard this summer, mainly on the flower beds.  Below are some pictures of the progression.
