Up until a few weeks ago, I would catch myself walking outside and wondering why it is so HOT. Then I have to tell myself, well it is JULY, not March! I see pictures of other babies born in March I think to myself that they look so old compared to Laney - then I look over at her and realize she is just as big as they are.
I look at her and my eyes still see a sweet little newborn baby, until I go back and look at her newborn pictures and realize how much she has grown and changed. I am back at work, she sleeps through the night (most of the time), she rolled over from tummy to back (only once so far), she's grabbing at toys, smiling at anyone who will play with her and outgrowing all of her 3 month clothes.
You would think all of that stuff would make me realize that my baby is growing up, yet I still have to constantly remind myself of the reality that she isn't a "justborn" baby anymore. [Quick break to wipe the tears].
Anyway, she had a wonderful checkup up today at the pediatrition. She is developmentally right on target, but the doctor wants her to start doing more tummy time. Physically, she is long and lean (perfect for her future modeling career - LOL). She got all of her 4 month shots today and she was such a trooper, only a little bit of crying.
Below are her 4 month stats, you'll see that she is 50th percentile for weight and 90th percentile for height. Normally, those two follow the same curve, but Laney is our little skinny-minny. Don't get me wrong, her weight is perfectly healthy, its just such a dramatic change from Brady :)
Weight: 13 lbs 11 oz (50th percentile)
Length: 25.50 inches (90th percentile)
Head : 15.65 inches (25th percentile)-or 39.75 cm
I was curious exactly how much difference there was between Brady and Laney, so I went back and looked at his 4 month checkup. Look at the difference:
Brady at 4 months old
Weight: 17 lbs 8 oz (90th percentile)
Length: 25.75 inches (90th percentile)
Head : 16.50 inches (50th percentile)
Lastly, here are some of my favorite pictures from the last month:
Brady helping me make a banana pudding:
The finished product:
He is so proud of himself (and happy to have a nilla wafer):
Laney in her ducky pajamas:
Poor Laney! Brady is always messing with her. She has alot of payback to dish out when she gets older:
And then he makes up for it with a sweet kiss:
Asleep in mommy and daddy's bed:
Isn't she such a pretty girl?
