5 months old

Miss-a-Laney-us (Miscellaneous) is already 5 months old.  We went to the doctor on Tuesday for Laney-bug's first ear infection (poor baby) and she weighed-in at 14 lbs, 14.5 oz.  That puts her right at the 50th percentile mark for weight.

She is continuing to eat cereal once a day and its mastering the art of swallowing without spitting half of it out.  She is also rolling (tummy to back) a lot more and is trying very hard to roll from her back to her tummy.  She gets on her side and gets comfortable there and never quiet makes it all the way over to her tummy.

She loves playing with [well, its more like chewing] all of her toys.  I think she is teething and wouldn't be surprised to see a tooth pop through in a couple of weeks.  Her big brother makes her smile and laugh all the time.  She is getting old enough now to do some things with Brady, like bath time and story time (pictures below) and it is so much fun watching them interact.

Speaking of Brady, he sure has been giving us a run for our money lately by not staying in bed.  On Wednesday, August 4, Brady climbed out of his crib for the first time.  By August 5, he could climb over the rails and be out of bed in about 1.5 seconds.  We felt we had no other choice but to change him into a toddler bed, the last thing we wanted was for him to hurt himself climbing out of the crib.

The toddler conversion rail that goes to Brady's bed was on back-order at every store here in Austin (we made the mistake of not purchasing it with the crib).  BUT, there was a store in Dallas that had it in stock.  So, my dad sacrificed his entire Saturday afternoon to go pick it up for us and meet Lance in West, TX (you know, where the Czech Stop is) to get it to us.  It was a crazy day, but by Saturday night, Brady was officially in his toddler bed.

The last couple of weeks have been really hard.  We went from being able to put Brady in his bed around 8:00 and not hearing a peep out of him until 8:30 the next morning, to walking him back to his bed upwards of 200 times with him finally falling asleep around 10:00 pm, only to wake up at the crack of dawn (about 6:00) every morning.

Things are finally starting to get better, although it is still a bit of a struggle.  The hard part is that Brady decided to pull this little stunt the week that Lance started 2-a-day practices for Football, which means he was gone from about 4:00 am to 9:30 pm everyday.

Well, that about sums up what we've been up to for the last month.  Now for the good part - pictures!!!

"Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty!"
(This was at my parent's house, Brady was trying to get the cat to come through the kitty/doggie door.)

We forgot Brady's hat, so he borrowed Laney's hat when she was under the awning.

Waking up from a nap in my new toddler bed
Brady says this is "my seat!"
And this is "my toy"
Brady does let Laney get in this one though - she likes it
The next set of pictures are from last night.  Brady and Laney were reading a bed time story together.  Laney had just finished an episode of crying and she was really tired, so please excuse her red eyes.  I just thought this moment was so adorable - I couldn't get enough pictures.  And I can't wait to get many more just like this :)

So cute!!! It looks like Laney's hair is a lot lighter than the last time I saw her! So sorry about Brady's new sleep schedule...must be pretty tough! Hope he adjusts soon!
