Laney is 18 months!

September 18, 2011 was Laney's 18 month birthday!  My baby girl is growing up so fast!  Somebody, PLEASE, make it stop :)  [Pause to wipe the tear away].  Okay, on to the rest of the post.  Here are her 18 month stats:

Length: 32.25 in (~60th percentile)
Weight: 21.9 lbs (~15th percentile)
Head: 45.5 cm (~25th percentile)

Still tall and skinny! :)  She is developing so beautifully and right on schedule.  She isn't talking very much just yet, but she does have about 20 words in her vocabulary.  She's really good about repeating things we say right after we say it.  She is a great eater!  She'll eat pretty much anything we put in front of her (or at least she tries everything).  She often goes for seconds or thirds and I have no idea where she puts all that food.  She certainly out-eats Brady, which is just so funny to me.

She is a cuddler and she loves to sit in my lap.  She has an eye for shoes and accessories (loves necklaces, bracelets, and all things shinny)!  She likes going up and down the stairs by herself and she's starting to hold her own when it comes to Brady's roughhousing.  She is a pretty good sleeper and only has problems going to sleep or staying asleep when she is feeling sick (or when the house gets really cold).

And last but not least, I want to document what has happened with her heart murmur.  She has had one since she was a newborn.  Her pediatrician has never been worried about it, she has just kept an eye on it and would listen to it everytime we went in for a checkup.  But this time, the pediatrician scared me to death when she told me that she had expected it to go away by now and that she wanted to refer Laney to a Cardiologist.  The doctor told me that it was most likely an innocent heart murmur (which is pretty common) and that I shouldn't worry until after the Cardiologist has examined her.

We had to wait a few weeks to see the Caridologist (which means more time to worry - oh wait, I wasn't supposed to worry).  But alas, she was able to get in on October 10.  They did an EKG and a sonogram of her heart.  Laney was such a trooper and she sat very still through all of the tests (about 30 minutes worth).  The Cardiologist came in and here were his exact words: "Her heart is perfect in every way and there is absolutely nothing to worry about.  I'm 100% positive that we didn't miss anything - so you can rest assured that she is OK".  Now THAT was music to my ears!  I said about 20 prayers that day thanking God over and over for blessing me with two healthy children.

Mommy's helper is "mopping" the carpet :)

Trip to Lowe's means the kids get to ride in the car buggie

Even from the back they are adorable

Here she is at the Cardiologist's office waiting to see the doctor.  She's got "her" bracelet on, a necklace in her hands and is sporting her cowgirl boots!

They gave her a gown to put on - it swallowed her up but she was so cute in it.  She could wear a paper bag and it would be cute!

This is her mischievous "I know I'm not supposed to be doing this" grin
This is her "please forgive me for doing something I'm not supposed to be doing" expression

Laney saw these shoes while strolling through Target the other day and she had to have them.  I'm not kidding, she threw a fit when I tried to put them back in the box.  They were a perfect addition to her Halloween costume, so I let her have them.  That and every little girl needs a pair of ruby red slippers, right?
Did I mention how much she loves her accessories?  The night we got these shoes, she refused to take them off.  So this is the result - Laney sleeping in her ruby red slippers!
